National Award winning actor Dhanush is all set to make his Hollywood debut in Iranian-French filmmaker Marjane Satrapi's upcoming movie. The movie will also star Uma Thurman and Alexandra Daddario.

Marjane Satrapi, who is very well known for her book and movie 'Persepolis', said that after watching Dhanush's movies he was the obvious choice.

"As I was watching various Indian movies, Dhanush became the most obvious choice - his intelligence, his killer smile, his ability to enter fully into the skin of any character he played (and I can go on and on forever) made me confident that he was the one," said Marjane Satrapi.

The movie titled 'The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir Who Got Trapped In An Ikea Cupboard' is based on Romain Puertolas’ bestselling debut novel of the same name, the comedy adventure movie follows a wild storyteller from New Delhi who falls in love with a woman when he reaches Paris, but accidentally gets deported along with a group of African refugees.

Dhanush is very excited about the movie.

“I am very excited by this opportunity to work in a full length Hollywood film,” said Dhanush.

“The director, Marjane Satrapi, felt I would be apt for this role and I feel there are many facets I can explore for this character,” he added.

The novel that was published in 2014 was translated into 35 languages.

The movie will also star Barkhad Abdi, Laurent Lafitte and Seema Biswas.
