Producer Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment has been ousted from – ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ and ‘Fanne Khan’.
The producer, who had recently lost a legal battle against John Abraham over Parmanu, has lost out on two more projects due to monetary issues and lack of payments.
Shree Narayan Singh directed ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ kicked off in February this year, the shooting of the social-drama came to an abrupt halt over several issues including the non-payment of dues.
Producer Bhushan Kumar has stepped in and has now replaced Prernaa Arora as the producer of ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’. The movie is currently back on track with new producer.
"The modalities have been worked out and the remaining remuneration of the actors will be paid. Bhushan has all the rights now and will be taking the film forward," a source told Mumbai Mirror.
The producer has also taken over Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's ‘Fanne Khan’.
"Yes, I'm the sole producer on Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Shree Narayan along with his partner Nitin Chandrachud are the stakeholders. Prernaa is also no longer a part of Fanne Khan because of all the trouble happening around her. She wants to solve all these problems first before she gets back to making movies. I will now be producing both these films with my partners on it," Kumar told the daily.
‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. ‘Fanne Khan’, on the other hand, will see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor together on the screen after 17 years. The movie also stars Rajkummar Rao.
