Director Anurag Basu was the first person to give a break to Kangana Ranaut in Bollywood. She made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Gangster’ (2006), which was directed by Anurag Basu. They later worked together for ‘Kites’ and the hit ensemble film ‘Life in a Metro’ The actor-director will soon reunite for romantic drama, ‘Imali’.

As reported by Mumbai Mirror, the film is titled as ‘Imali’ and the actor will start shooting for it once she finishes Ashwini Iyer Tiwari's next.

A source close to the development informed, "The prep for Imali is expected to begin by August but the film should roll only towards the year-end. The search for the male lead is on."

Kangana said in a statement, “It’s too early to talk about Imali as we are starting the film around the end of the year. All I can say is that Anurag is my godfather and everything I am today is because of him… I can’t wait to go back to the beginning.”

The male lead for the film is yet to be finalised and it will be a romantic movie. ‘Imali’ is likely to go on floors by the end of 2018.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut is currently shooting in ‘London for Mental Hai Kya’. The film also stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead role.

Ranaut will be seen in ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ this year. She plays the role of Rani Laxmibai in the film. ‘Manikarnika’ also stars Ankita Lokhande and Sonu Sood in vital roles. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.

Kangana also has Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s sports film where she plays a Kabadi player. The actress has already started prepping for the film by taking Yoga classes and she will be trained by national-level Kabbadi players.
