A couple of days ago, Akshay Kumar announced an ambitious project called ‘Mission Mangal’. The actor also revealed that the movie will be lead by a stellar female cast of Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and Nithya Menen.
The movie will be based on India's 2014 Mangalyaan Mars Mission.
In a recent interview with DNA, Akshay Kumar was asked if he feels apprehensive about working with not one but almost 5 heroines in a movie.
"That script demands the women to be ahead of us. They are the real heroes of the mission. Mission Mangal is interesting and inspiring. I’ve no shame in doing a movie that is led by women. At this stage, I don’t have to think much about my screen time. Whenever people approach me, I just see if my role is making an impact. If it does, and I have dates, I do it," said the actor.
Multi-starrer movies are a rarity in Bollywood and Akshay Kumar is glad that he could bring such an amazing female cast together for one movie.
"I’m happy that these girls are not bothered about the fact that there are five female leads in the same film. That ‘main kyu karu’ attitude isn’t there. I don’t think five heroes will come together for a movie like this,” he said.
Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the movie also stars Sharman Joshi.
‘Mission Mangal’ is being co-produced by Akshay's production house, Cape Of Good Films and Fox Star Studios.
