The first look of Anurag Basu’s upcoming multi-starrer dark comic anthology has been unveiled by Rajkummar Rao.
The actor shared the first look of the movie on Twitter and wrote, "Bahut jald samne ayega aap logo ke, tab tak ke liye ek jhalak. Anurag Basu sir's next with Fatima Sana Shaikh.”
The currently untitled movie centres around the inevitable jeopardies of life. Similar to Basu’s ‘Life in Metro’, this movie too will tell four different stories set in a quintessential Indian metro. The slice of life film will have intersecting stories at its core.
According to reports, the film will be shot extensively in Mumbai, Kolkata and Bhopal.
The film will be produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series.
The producer–director duo have already roped in Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra and Pankaj Tripathi for the movie. While the filmmaker worked on major sequences with Abhishek in Mumbai and Kolkata last year, he was in Bhopal recently, shooting with Rajkummar and Fatima.
"It is my pleasure to be working with Bhushan Kumar for my next that is a dark comic anthology. It's our first collaboration but doesn't seems like one. I am extremely happy to have found this talented new generation cast, though I will trust my old friend Pritam for music as always," Basu said in a statement.
Speaking about the forthcoming film and his association with the ‘Barfi!’ director, Bhushan Kumar said, "We have tried to bring on board a terrific cast who perfectly fit the roles that are written. The way the script and shooting is in process, Anurag and I are already planning on doing another project. I am keen on doing more films with Anurag and his team."
“Anurag is a master storyteller, who creates magic in his films. I am happy that we are working together. The characters and story are compelling, and the treatment is amusing. We have tried to bring on board a terrific cast, who perfectly fit the roles. In fact, Anurag and I are already planning to do another project. I am keen on doing more films with Anurag and his team,” he added.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Anurag Basu, Tani Somarita Basu and Krishan Kumar, the film releases on September 6. This means that the movie will clash with Raj Mehta's ‘Good News’ starring Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh.
