The Khans of Bollywood have ruled the industry for nearly three decades now. During this time all the three Khans – Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, have amassed a huge and loyal fan base. The fans have stood by them through thick and thin. A sensitive group of their some fans have always been adamant about not hearing a word against their idols.

The latest such incident is when Sara Ali Khan addressed Shah Rukh Khan as uncle at a recently held awards show. While giving an interview at the red carpet, she said, "I remember when my father used to host the Filmare with Shah Rukh uncle. I used to love it".

On hearing Sara Ali Khan call Shah Rukh Khan 'uncle', fans went on an outrage and started trolling the young actress. Few of them went on to argue that a handsome man such as Shah Rukh Khan couldn’t be called as an 'uncle'.

But there also have been a few who have defended the actress and have pointed out that Sara Ali Khan’s father, Saif Ali Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan have been friends and that it is common to address parent’s friends as aunty and uncle.

“Sara Ali Khan called SRK uncle at Filmfare and people are trolling her. What do you expect a 23 YO to call a 50 plus man who is in real life, older than her father? Stupid fans need to accept their hero has aged enough to be called uncle,” wrote one Twitter user.

“11 years back when Sarah was 12 Shahrukh was hosting the Filmfare awards ceremony with her father Saif. How does one think she'd have addressed (greeted) Shahrukh then?  What's changed since then?” wrote another Twitter user.

On the work front, Shah Rukh was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero along with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The film failed to perform at the box office. He was then expected to star in Rakesh Sharma biopic titled ‘Saare Jahaan Se Achcha’. But the actor walked out of the movie later. He hasn’t announced any new projects yet.
