After months of speculations of if Sanjay Leela Bhansali will reunite with his ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ star Salman Khan for his next directorial venture, an official announcement of the project was made. But what came as to a surprise to many when ‘Inshallah’ was announced was that Alia Bhatt was cast as the female lead in the movie.

While the fresh pair got a few fans excited, there were many fans who criticized the casting given the age difference between the two actors. Recently, during an interaction with MidDay, Alia Bhatt said that there was a reason behind the casting.

And now further news regarding their characters in the movie has come our way.

A Mumbai Mirror report quoted a source as saying, “Salman is a businessman in his mid-40s. The character is reminiscent of his turn in his 1997 romcom Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai. Alia plays a 20-something aspiring actress. All the factors, including age gap, have been taken into consideration. The story will justify the teaming up of two actors, from different generations, on a romantic journey.”

Other news regarding the movie doing rounds is that unlike many Bollywood movies, ‘Inshallah’ will be shot in the US.

A source stated to Mumbai Mirror, "The crew was contemplating on several places, including Europe, but settled on the US after several rounds of recce. Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt will be there in winters."

The movie will also be shot in various locations in India.

While talking to the Times of India, the line producer in Haridwar, Chinmay Pandit spoke about Sanjay Leela Bhansali doing a recce for Inshallah. He stated, "Bhansali sir last week yahan aaye thay aur unhone Haridwar aur Rishikesh mein kuchh locations dekhen hain jo unhe pasand bhi aaye hain."

Chinmay further said, "Sir also saw the Ganga Aarti and also participated in it in Haridwar besides seeing a few houses too."

He concluded by saying, "I am still awaiting his confirmation for that as to when he wants to go there."

‘Inshallah’ will go on floors soon after Salman Khan wraps up the shooting of ‘Dabangg 3’, which is hitting the screens this year in the month of December. While, Alia will complete SS Rajamouli's RRR and kickstart the shoot of her father Mahesh Bhatt's directorial, Sadak 2.

‘Inshallah’ is likely to hit the screens in Eid 2020.
