Actor Jacqueline Fernandez is all set to star in the upcoming Netflix original film ‘Mrs Serial Killer’. This movie will mark Jacqueline’s debut on digital media platform.

The actress took to Twitter to share the news along with her excitement.

“Super stoked to announce my new @NetflixIndia Original film, Mrs. Serial Killer is coming soon. This is going to be fun,” tweeted the actress.

The thriller movie will see Jacqueline play the role of a wife of a accused serial killer.

“When her husband is framed and imprisoned for serial murders, a doting wife must perform a murder exactly like the serial killer, to prove her husband innocent,” is the official synopsis of the movie.

The film will be directed by Sirish Kunder and produced by his wife, Farah Khan.

“Just a very excited PSA that @Asli_Jacqueline is officially part of the Netflix fam with Mrs. Serial Killer. Here’s hoping that if we are ever framed for murder, she’s got our back!” Netflix India tweeted on Wednesday.

Netflix India also shared a black and white picture of the actress donning a scarf.

Mrs Serial Killer was a part of a recent announcement by the streaming giant, in which it revealed that it would produce 10 new original titles for India. Others include a horror anthology by Lust Stories directors Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar, and content produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Ronnie Screwvala. Karan will also produce an upcoming film called Guilty through the digital arm of his Dharma Productions.

He said in a statement, “Today a filmmaker with an interesting idea has so many avenues to connect with the audience, and Netflix is definitely one of the most exciting among them. As a content creator, there has never been a better time to tell stories. Guilty is a film that explores a personal, powerful subject where a small-town girl takes on the structures that protect perpetrators of rape. Ruchi Narain is helming the film as a director, and we at Dharmatic, could not be more excited than to see her vision come alive across 190 countries on Netflix.”

Netflix will also soon release the second season of the popular series ‘Sacred Games’. It will also release a brand new TV show ‘Leile’, a post-apocalyptic drama.
