Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has donated Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the Odisha cyclone victims.

The massive destruction that took place in Odisha in last week due to cyclone Fani has left lakhs of people homeless. Though there have been no casualties, the cyclone has caused irreparable damage. The visual sight of it is heartbreaking to see and has left many people sad. Help has been pouring in from various quarters in this time of crisis, and actor Akshay Kumar has been one of them.

“This is not new. Akshay has always been contributing for causes, be it his Bharat ke Veer initiative for the armed forces, or his contribution to the Kerala Floods or Chennai floods earlier,” says an industry source.

Earlier, Akshay had vowed to donate ₹5 crore through Bharat Ke Veer — a fund-raising initiative of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. He had also extended a helping hand to the rain ravaged Chennai in 2015 by donating Rs 1 crore for relief work.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay's upcoming film is ‘Housefull 4’, which is the fourth instalment of his hit franchise of the same name. Apart from him, the film also stars Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. It's slated to release during Diwali 2019.

Other than this movie he also has ‘Mission Mangal’, ‘Good News’ and 'Laaxmi Bomb' under his belt.
