Priyanka Chopra is now a global icon but the journey to the top wasn’t an easy one for the actress. Priyanka worked her way to the top by starting her journey as a model at the age of 18.
Talking about the struggle as an 18-year-old, PeeCee told Vogue magazine, "I didn't know anything or anyone. I was yelled at by directors, I was thrown into movies, I was thrown out of movies."
Further talking about a piece of advice that took her far along, Priyanka mentioned her father's rule - to listen more and talk less.
“‘The more you talk, the less you will listen and the less you will learn’...I taught myself confidence. I learnt it’s what you do after failure that makes you a success,” she said.
Confirming that it is this rule that took her a long way, Chopra went on to open up about how she dealt with struggle and failures. She stated, "I taught myself confidence. I learnt it's what you do after failure that makes you a success."
Priyanka made her acting debut after she won the Miss World crown in 2000. She made her debut with ‘Andaaz’ opposite Akshay Kumar and with Lara Dutta, who won the Miss Universe crown in the same year.
In the same interview, Priyanka mentioned that she does intend to start a family with her now-husband Nick Jonas. Buying a house and having her baby are, as she says, on her to-do list.
On the work front, Priyanka Chopra will next star in and co-produce ‘The Sky Is Pink’, based on the motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary, which will premiere at Toronto Film Festival. Directed by Shonali Bose, the movie also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim.
