The much-awaited trailer of The Sky Is Pink is out. The Shonali Bose-directed film features Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in lead roles while Zaira Wasim, the narrator of the film, plays their onscreen daughter and Rohit Saraf. 

The trailer opens with the voice of Zaira Wasim narrating the love story of her parents Panda and Moose, characters played by Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra. The trailer shows the early days of romance to their wedding to their accidental child. Despite all the tough times, the pair is hopeful to sail through everything. They are one crazy happy family but tragedy strikes when Aisha is diagnosed with a critical lung disorder. Then begins the fight against odds. The film is essentially a family drama that celebrates love and life.

The three-minute-long trailer will tug at the hearts strings as we see these characters go through their ups and downs. In the trailer Aisha describes her parents' love story is like no other and her all-time favourite. But she describes herself as the 'villain' in their love story. And going by the trailer we agree with the part that love story between Panda and Moose does seem endearing. The trailer teases a delightful tale of love and hope.

Director Shonali Bose said in a statement, “The Sky is Pink is a deeply personal story and I’m so excited to share it with everyone.”

Calling it a film of love and hope, Priyanka Chopra said, “The Sky Is Pink is a story I think will resonate with everyone at some level. We have all faced loss at some point in life and this movie shows us how to celebrate the life of your loved one, instead of mourning their death.”

The Sky is Pink recently had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. It is also going to have its European premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October.

“It’s an honour for us to have our European Premiere at the BFI London Film Festival. The city of London plays a significant part in the timeline of the film. In fact, we even shot some portions of the film here so that makes it even more special. The Sky is Pink is a story that will surprise the audience in its representation of love in all its forms. I am so proud of what we’ve created. It’s a labour of love and we’re excited to finally hand it over to the audience,” said Priyanka in a statement.

'The Sky Is Pink' is based on the story of Aisha Chaudhary, who became a motivational speaker after being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 13. 

The movie is co-produced by Priyanka, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur.

'The Sky Is Pink' will release on October 11th.
