Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh aren’t just Bollywood’s beloved off-screen couple but also one of the top on-screen couple.

Previously, the duo have worked together in three Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie’s – ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’. All these three movies were period dramas, where either both or one of them faced a tragic death.

The couple will soon be seen in a completely different genre all together. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone will play husband and wife in Kabir Singh’s upcoming biopic ‘83’. The movie will see Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, while Deepika will play his onscreen wife Romi Dev.

Talking about the same, Deepika told Mumbai Mirror, "It is our lightest film together yet. Onset, you are not husband and wife or girlfriend and boyfriend, you are actors. This film was so different." She further said about what kind of movie she would like to do with Ranveer in future, "It will be good to be just a boy and a girl in a young, fresh film."

While she shared an interesting anecdote with Ranveer from Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela stating, "After watching the Chhapaak trailer, he recalled the time when we were promoting Goliyon Ki Raasleela… Ram Leela in Jaipur and there was a person, dressed exactly like Shah Rukh Khan, who jumped out of the crowd at me. I had forgotten all about it, but he remembered."

Deepika also spoke about her relationship with Ranveer after marriage saying, "I’d had a long day, but I didn’t feel anxious about whether he would be upset about me coming home late or because I hadn’t called. I have been in relationships where I didn’t have that. When you don’t have to worry about such things, it allows you to focus on work."

Deepika Padukone will next be seen in ‘Chhapaak’. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie is loosely based on the life of Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor, who went on to speak for the rights of acid attack survivors in the country. The movie stars Deepika Padukone as Malti, an acid attack survivor.  ‘Chhapaak’ also stars Vikrant Massey as a social right activist and Deepika’s love interest in the movie. The movie will release on January 10th, clashing with Ajay Devgn’s period epic ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, and Rajinikanth’s cop thriller ‘Darbar’.

On the other hand, Ranveer will next be seen in ‘83’. ‘83’ is a biography on India’s World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev. The movie will trace Kapil Dev’s journey from his childhood to India’s historic history victory at 1983 Cricket World Cup.

Other than Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone the movie also stars Saqib Saleem, Adinath Kothare, Chirag Patil, Harddy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jatin Sarna, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Dinker Sharma, Jiiva, Sahil Khattar, Dhairya Karwa, Nishant Dahhiya and R Badree.
